Get to Know Us
The God’s Country Community Ministries is in the eastern part of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It covers a 2500 square mile area from Engadine near Lake Michigan, up to Paradise at Whitefish Bay, to Grand Marais on Lake Superior’s south shore and encompasses McMillan, Germfask, Newberry, and Hulbert.
Although it is located in some of the most beautiful country you could ever hope to see, the isolation, extremely harsh long winters, and scarcity of jobs bring real challenges to these communities. Unlike our more densely populated areas where you might find assistance more easily there is not a lot of resources to go to for help.
Yet these seven communities who started our mission through God's Country Cooperative Parish combined their resources, shared their faith, and, through their active presence, worked to bring self-esteem, hope, and faith to all God’s children throughout their vast parish. The mission has now expanded and grown as we have partnered with all denominations and become God's Country Community Ministries.
Meet The Team
Randy Hildebrant
I'm the Executive Director of God's Country Community Ministries and can be found running around the Dunlap Center doing a lot of different things.
Loren McFadden
I manage the VIM (Volunteers in Mission) teams who come to the Dunlap Center in the summer. We love to build, paint and repair homes and yards for those in need.
Dianne Neumann
You will normally find me in the office on Tues and Wed afternoons and at various other times during the week. I take care of the paperwork, grants and bank accounts.
Our Volunteers!!
We would not be able to run The Dunlap Center without our volunteers!! They do everything -- helping with mailings, sorting out the donated items, putting together food boxes for families, making lunches, helping individuals when they come in looking for items and many more jobs than we can mention!! Please come help us keep this center operating for those in need in our communities!!
