Get to Know Us

God's Country Community Ministries serves the eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan across a 2,500-square-mile region. This area stretches from Engadine near Lake Michigan north to Paradise at Whitefish Bay, west to Grand Marais on the southern shore of Lake Superior, and includes the communities of McMillan, Germfask, Newberry, and Hulbert.

While this region is known for its natural beauty, the people who live here face significant challenges. Geographic isolation, long and severe winters, and limited job opportunities make daily life difficult. Compared with more densely populated areas, local residents often have far fewer resources and support services available to them.

God's Country Community Ministries began through the shared efforts of seven communities in God's Country Cooperative Parish. By combining their resources, sharing their faith, and remaining actively present in their communities, they worked to bring hope, dignity, and encouragement to people throughout the region. Over time, that mission has expanded through partnerships across denominations, growing into what is now God's Country Community Ministries.

Meet The Team

Randy Hildebrant

I'm the Executive Director of God's Country Community Ministries and can be found running around the Dunlap Center doing a lot of different things.

Loren McFadden

I manage the VIM (Volunteers in Mission) teams who come to the Dunlap Center in the summer. We love to build, paint and repair homes and yards for those in need.

Dianne Neumann

You will normally find me in the office on Tues and Wed afternoons and at various other times during the week. I take care of the paperwork, grants and bank accounts.

Our Volunteers!!

We would not be able to run The Dunlap Center without our volunteers!! They do everything -- helping with mailings, sorting out the donated items, putting together food boxes for families, making lunches, helping individuals when they come in looking for items and many more jobs than we can mention!! Please come help us keep this center operating for those in need in our communities!!
